Communities and fire is a blog about my research into how fire affects different communities within the West Midlands and beyond. I’m interested in understanding whether some communities are more likely to be affected by fire, and if so, why. I am particularly interesting in exploring whether attempts to communicate the fire safety message have failed to reach certain communities, and understanding why that is the case and what can be done to change things.
The blog is an attempt open up the research to all who may have an interest, to keep people informed about what I’m doing and to solicit feedback on that.
The research is being carried out at Coventry University as part of my PhD, where I’m currently attached to the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations.
